That's usually a more serious light than the check engine light.

a CEL is typically emissions related, the SVS is different. Get that checked out and scanned.

I have seen the service VEHICLE light come on before because of a headlight being out (in a Grand Am).

But as Mike said, it could be more serious too. If it isn't obvious (check all your lights) then you better get it checked out.

I have had the SVS light come on randomly for the past two years. Normally it is in the morning and when I leave work. My car runs fine, the M90 Supercharger works but that darn light is a pain. I have the car scanned and something has come up about the BCM. I have not talked myself into spending $500 on a new BCM and the extra cost for the reprogramming. The car has passed smog a year ago.

Also, does the BCM effect the A/C? My husband jumped the clutch and it works wonders but as soon as we plug the white connector back to the compressor, it will not work. I ahve replaced all three blend door actuators. I have been without A/C for three years. I was thinking of installing a toggle switch to bypass the white connector. What are some of your thoughts?

I drive an 05 MC SS Supercharged with 105k miles. Transmission has been rebuilt shortly after I bought it. Also under heavy acceleration, my dash and headlight dim down...
