take off your shifter bootie thing.

what hold the shifter on is a "U" shaped piece of plastic. With the ends of the "U" facign the rear of the car. You are going to need a small pen, pin, needle, somethign to push into one of the two holes.

after you have pushed, check the other side and see if you can pull the "U" piece out.

Done deal

LOL, that's what I said when I first read it. I got it off another site and just copied/pasted. I figured the moderators here wouldn't appreciate me advertising and giving links to competing boards. He meant the shift boot.

Do a google search for shift **** and you'll find all kinds of sites that sell em. Have fun!

I found one I really like, its a RAZO. Take a look:

The only thing I am not sure of is, what they mean by Gate Type Shift Lever. Will this work in the 04 MC SS?

Thanks.

That **** looks pretty cool. Let me know if it works. I'd almost like that one for mine as well.

I think if I were to get an aftermarket **** I'd want something that flows a little smoother with the interior. But RAZO is a good brand, quality stuff, and kinda pricey as you can see.

Is $50 expensive for shift *****? I don't know, I have never purchased one so I'll have to rely on your expertise. Is our shifter a gate style and will this shifter work on our Monte's?

I found out that the **** i recently posted would not work, but this one would:

http://www.cardomain.com/item/MOMAUTOALU

Looks nice, but it cost more, go figure. The MC's do not use a Gate Transmission but a Hydra-Matic transmission. Thats what the store people told me.

Now i just have to find a way to install it. Right below the ****, through the leather, I feel some sort of connection, but I do not know what it is. Obviously, I am not going to but my leather just to see what it is either, lol.

there are plenty that are more than that, but considering the last shift **** I got was $15 brand new, yeah, fifty is alot. But you, being the baller you are, that should be a drop in the bucket
