Default Repair help

Ok my car cranks but wont start. I was thinking it was the crankshaft but I took it to repair shop and they wanted to charge me $700 for alternator and battery. So I pulled it back home.. Put a battery in and then it started. Ran for a day or 2 then cut off again while driving.. I didn't even know til it jst stopped accelerating. Check engine light has never been on but now codes 0102 0171 0230 and 0606 came up when it wouldn't start bur yesterday when it was runnin only code 0171 came up..

Get the alternator tested, or assume that they also did the alternator test and it failed and that's why the shop wanted to replace it.

The battery starts the car, the alternator keeps it running and charges the battery.

Ok, if the alt is testing good, and you are having those DTCs, do you have an aftermarket CAI on the car?

Even if you don't, buy a can of MAF Cleaner and give the MAF a spray. Also check your ground wires near the PCM (it's near the air filter).

Some of your DTCs are MAF related, but one of them is PCM related and that's not a good thing to see.
