Default Relearn After Overkill PCM Install?

I was looking at PCM tunes for my Monte from Overkill and saw this notice:

'You may be required to have a CASE or Crank Position Sensor Relearn performed to match the new computer module to your engine.'

So, has anyone that purchased a PCM from them actually had to have a relearn done or did you just plug in the new PCM and go for it?

It's very common with Monte Carlo's to have to go through the security relearn process, I had to when I got my ZZP PCM.

I have an Overkill PCM. When I installed it, I just had to do the security relearn procedure. The instructions were included with the new PCM. Pretty simple. I did not have to do anything with the CASE or crankcase position sensor.

Thanks Amy. Is the security relearn you refer to the 11 minute ON 30 second OFF X3 process or something different? If so I can do that myself. It's the crank relearn I was most curious about. Did you have to have that done in addition to the security relearn?

Thanks again Amy...

So then I assume you didn't have to do a CASE or crank relearn then?

Hey Frank... I got my tune in car from Will and when we were done I took it easy and went straight to the dealership to get the "Re-learn" done... When I got there the technician looked puzzled, as to get the re-learn done, your car will definately throw a code... No code after the install, no need for the re-learn... Needless to say that 2 years later and more WOT trials than I can count, all is well... Hope this helps,

PS - The code that the CEL will throw is listed on the instructions from Will, sorry, but I don't have it handy...

If you have to take it to the dealer for the re-learn what do they usually charge for this?
