Default recall for head gaskets for the 3500 v6 monte's

well there is a head gasket recall for the 3500 monte carlo's that has the 3500 engine in it. if water or starting to have to add unusual amount of fluid in the resivuior it is the head gaskets. gm dealers wont right away tell you till after it is in the shop and all ready replacing it. so i am giving every one the heads up

I've heard of a few guys on here needing a new head gasket in there 3500/3900 engine, but nothing near as common as the head gasket issues with the 3400. Or the LIM gaskets on the 3400/3800...

So what i'd like to know, is why would GM be recalling a head gasket issue that does not even seem that common on the 3500/3900 V6. Yet they have had class action law suits against them for the LIM/ Head gasket issues with other V6's, and NEVER issues a recall for head gaskets or LIM gaskets.

Anyway, if I so happen to get a recall notice about this, I will definitely let everyone know.

Damn, how about a front crank seal for 3900 engines? I wouldn't mind having that recalled right about not.

with the redesign of the intake manifold for the 3500/3900 makes the lim leak impossible as in leaking radiator fluid in the intake. the 3500 heads are a new type of heads that replaced the 3900 and the 3400 engins. so the head gaskets are the issue of loss of coolent instead of the lim.

I still havent received a letter about this and I really don't think I ever will. Like I said before, its just not that common of a problem on these engines. I am at 129K and never had issues with gaskets.

when i had mine at the dealer the service writer said there is a recall for the head gasket but it wont be sent out. untill there is a lot of the monte's show the problem but it is common for the impallas that share the same engine. chevy sent out a recall notice for impallas not yet for the monte carlo's i think gm thinks a lot of the monte's have the 3900 and 3800 v6 engine and the v8 one not the 3500 one. i posted this to help every one out about it if they havent had a recall letter on it. if you dont have a issue with coolent loss keep a close eye on coolent loss. if there is any i just wanted every one know and keep a eye on the usuall things if there is a unusual loss it is it if there is every thing else is in top notch. it is a heads up post thats all
