Default radiator flush?

I have a 2005 3.4L monte carlo and i was checking the coolant in the radiator and i noticed under the cap there was clay looking stuff on the cap. i think i need a flush lol. i searched the forums and read NOT to use dex cool. what do you guys recommend? also i didnt see any HOW TO's for this job was wondering if its easy to do or should i take it to someone to get it done? i want to try to do it myself but i dont want to mess anything up....thanks for your time.

There's nothing wrong with sticking with dexcool, you just have to keep it flushed more than often than they say (5 years, 100k) I do it every other year.

Since you say there is a buildup, I would honestly get it flushed at a shop, should only be around $90 and they will hook it up to a machine and give it a good flush. At home all you can do is put a cleaner in, and run it, drain it, repeat. In the future when you want to do regular flushes (not when it's a little too late) it wont' be difficult at home.
