Question about 2005 DRL pin bypass

Hate to make a new thread about this but I didn't know who best to PM about it. What I wanted to make sure was this: After bending pin 87 the DRLs no longer function BUT my low-beams will turn on as it gets dark, correct?

Reason I ask is I'm about to invest in some HIDs, and don't want to burn them out during the day but still having the ALC on makes things easier. Thanks for any help!

DRL for 05 Monte Carlo

Yes, the Low Beams will turn on still because they rely on the light sensor that's next to the defroster duct. I've never installed HID's before, but I do know that my DRLs were disabled after I pulled the DRL relay. The SEL light never turned on nor did any warning messages show up in the Info. Center. I didn't even have to pull any wires or bend any pins. My low beams still turn on at night too. I think this only applies to 2005 Montes though.. You should be fine.:)

The low beams will work fine, but a word of advice if you have a garage: disable the auto on feature of the headlights too. Otherwise your lights will be on as soon as you start the car, then shut off when you back out of the garage. They say that will reduce the life of the HID's. The BCM can't be programmed to disable them, so I bypassed the headlights all together and have it turn only my park lights on.

No garage so don't have to worry about that one.
