Default puffing smoke on 5.3 progressive

Hey guys, I'm new to the site but need some help. I have a 06 Mote SS with the 5.3 progressive V8. Everything is stock except for a magnaflow exhuast. I recently noticed while driving down the interstate that right when the car goes from 4 cylinder mode to 8, I get a good puff of smoke out the tail pipes. It only lasts for a second or so, but it is enough that I can see it in the rear view mirror. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, what did it end up being?
Any help is greatly appreciated

I would be afraid to get one of those Montes now because of that, but i guess it would have a recall sticker under the hood if it was fixed right? Its sad because they are very nice. I'd just be scared.

they havent ever recalled them. they have a fix out for it now but if you are out of warranty you have to pay for it and they wont do the fix unless it is using oil. DoD is pointless anyway. it saves like 2 mpg and is annoying once you drive awhile.

Did not know that wow yeah I guess you could always just get the DOD programme dout right or a chip or something to turn it off? But does that take care of the whole using oil problem?

That'd always be a good idea. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
