I think Royal Purple is probably as good or better than any of them, however I prefer Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil because it is guaranteed for 15,000 miles. I change the oil filters at 6,000 miles, rotate the tires, and then again at 12,000 miles, with fresh oil.
We have just under 600,000 miles on synthetic oils, started with Valviline and Mobil 1, then Royal Purple, then switched to Mobil 1 EP when it came out.

Once again may I add, the oil filter is as important, if not more than the oil.

Mod Wiz is on sebatical, but he always recommends Wix filters which we can only buy at NAPA here in SoCal.

There was a TV shoe on SPIKE one of the car shows cant remembeer witch one it was but they ran a engine with regular oil and then with royal purple and there was an increase of 8 hp.

this was on about a 450 hp motor though so iw ould thing the gain would be less on our motors.

also i use it on my car and my dad uses it on his 69 dart. but my dad did burn alot when he put it in his 95 tahoe with 200K plus miles on it.

Did they mention which oil filters they used?

No

Can an oil filter really change Hp? or would it just keep the hp gain higher for a longer time?

The question is, "How does oil affect horsepower?"

When we get the answer, we can figure out if a high quality filter can maintain that rise in power longer.

Space, start googling!!!!!

Oh yeah, I just remembered, Mod Wiz Kid always recommended Wix filter which you can buy at any NAPA or your local Wismer's Performance Auto Parts.
