Default No headlights or interior lights in dark 04 Monte

Hello:

I have an 04 Monte SS that i have owned for 3 years now. Every once in a while, when i get into the car at night, there are NO lights headlights dashlights nothing. I can pull the H/L switch **** and then all lights come on manually. And the lights remain on [in automatic i suppose], when i push the H/L switch **** back in.

But tonight , it happened to be 35 deg outside. And when i got in the car, and turned the ign key, the same condtion existed. And i did as i mentioned in the previous paragraph, BUT i got an SES light!! thats a new one.

Wondering what is the cause, DLR sensor or DLR relay or maybe bad H/L switch ? Any ideas would be helpful b4 i take my ride into the mechanic shop.

Thanks

With the no headlights and dash lights also being in the equation I'm thinking it could be the Ignition Starter Switch, you have many of the symptoms, look into it more, easy enough to replace

I agree with zippy. tends to get worse in cold weather.
