7th Gen ('06-'07): no crank no start no window controls no radio
I have a 2006 SS, got this car by inheritance. It seems to have a parasitic drain from something but not sure where. The battery wasn't holding a charge so I bought and installed a new one. No crank. No start. no window or lock controls and tbe radio says locked. trouble shooting led me to replacing the ignition switch. No change. had new key made by locksmith with the proper equipment. no change. was told the bcm isn't communicating. but when looking for the correct bcm if i look it up by make and model in don't get results with same part number currently in the car. how do i determine which one to get? The bcm pn currently in the car is 15828601. is there a way to bench test the BCM out of the car? like taking the bcm to O'Reillys or a dealer?
I'm pretty handy with diy but am not a mechanic and I'm beyond frustrated.
thanks

Unfortunately you can't bench test something like that oreillys can't bench test moduels like that Unfortunately. Most shops that can do that are hard to find but easy to find in other states where the state ignores cash for clunker aspect. Because most area's know that a person car is there only way to get to work. But I am trying to find a shop near me in Pittsburgh
Here is something wild to try! find a U- wrench salvage yard and get the BCM out of one there and try it to see if it will work. that Locked warning on the Radio is a bit of an issue you need to get that unlocked. Sometimes one of the previous owners may have activated the system for Anti-theft and that will be an issue too.
Also you might want to get the original GM service manuals for the year your car is, not the Chiltons but the GM ones and they have alot of things you can check to get it back up and going.
