Default New here...odds n ends

Hey guys. Well I just bought my 2nd monte a few weeks ago. 2006 Lazer metallic blue 3.9. Whoever had it before me put the SS badges all over it so people are constantly trying to race me

the 3.9 pulls pretty well so I fair decently

Anyway. My previous monte was an 01 ls..which was plagued with problems, but I had to pull the trigger on the 06 monte..its gorgeous and its leaps n bounds better than my 01.

I'm about to put a CAI on it, and eventually put a new exhaust on her. I wish the 3.9 had more options to get more power, without having to go all custom.

BTW, I read a thread on here where someone was talking about his friends monte having floormats with LSX on them. Well i have that too...anyone ever figure out what that meant?

Anyway look forward to talking all things monte with ya guys!

Wiki:
LSX

At the 2006 SEMA show, GM Performance Parts introduced the LSX engine, an all-new cast-iron racing block based on the LS7 engine. It was designed with help from drag racing legend Warren Johnson. It offers displacements ranging from 364 cubic inches to 511 cubic inches (4.25 in (108 mm) Bore x 4.5 in (114.3 mm) Stroke) and is capable of withstanding 2,500 bhp (1,900 kW). This block incorporates two extra rows of head-bolt holes per bank for increased clamping capacity. The six bolt steel main caps are the same ones used on the LS7 engine. The engine debuted at the auto show in a customized 1969 Camaro owned by Reggie Jackson. The LSX will be available starting the second quarter of 2007, set to be available in authorized dealerships and retailers on March 31, 2007.[8]

Im not sure you are allowed to play with us if your monte doesnt have at least 2500hp. Mines almost 3 with the NOS sticker and carbon fiber dipstick. Might wanna check with a mod.
