Default Need ignition power source

That is easilly accessed under the hood (so something to power a relay only when the ignition is on) so that my fog lights turn off when i turn the car off as well... I have them wired to the factory switch (although my car didnt come with them) and i've left the **** things on a few times and totally drained my battery...

i'm very good at figuring out eletrical, so a pic would be nice IF POSSIBLE

Maybe you could tap off of the ignition relay located in the lower underhood fuse box?

i just rewired my fog lights directly to the light switch on the left side of the dash. (light brown wire on the harness) i have a LS and bought SS fog lights. so now whenever my head lights come one the fogs turn on. and they all go off at the same time

something i did in my colorado to power my fogs that may apply was to find a open fuse section in the block (tested and found 12 volts). eg sunfroof, -i didnt have one and it draws a descent amount of amps. Using a fuse tap kit, onto a burned out fuse would give you the 12volts acc off of the ignition controlled side. just remember to add a working properly sized a fuse in the 12 volt wire to protect your car and the fogs.

P.s i am not claiming it was the best option but it worked well for me. you need to verify this will work in your car and try at your own risk....

Brown wire sends 12v only when the key is turned on? if thats the case, thats exactly what i want!

Thanks

its light brown. i should have takin pics when i did it. but what it does is, it only gets power when the head lights turn on. so for your DRLs when its night time. the fog lights will automatically turn on with the head lights. then go off when you turn the car off. but on a side note. theoretically if you pulled the head light switch all the way out they would be on. but you should only be using your DRLs since they do everything for you
