Default Mystery part

I dropped the trans pan to do a fluid change and this part fell out. Have no idea what it is or how it goes back in. Nothing nin manual or all data exploded views. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get this put back together.

It is called a Thermo element , and the way it sits now on your photo it is upside down according to my service manual. I to a photo of it and will try to upload that.
