Low Coolant and Temperature Gauge problem

My low coolant light has been coming on and staying but I have coolant in there. My temperature gauge is also acting funny. When my car warms up, it goes almost all the way to the red area and then goes back to where its suppose to be. Also, when I turn on the heat, it just blows cold air. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would check your thermostat and then after replacing that, check to see if there is any air in the system.

bleed the system.. that's what mine done that sounds like the problem. anytime you add new coolant you need to bleed the system.

bleed the system first...then check ur tstat and your coolant sensor, kinda sounds like the sensor to me but ive had the temp gauge problem and it was a $12 fix
