I have not heard of the LE monte before this one nor does my cluster have the bowtie. A quick search turned up nothing and it looks as if all the Limited Edition models are NASCAR driver inspired signature editions.

well i emailed chevy customer relations about it and this what they had to say
I have researched and found the information in which you have requested. I have found that your vehicle is not a special edition. There was only two special edition models made in 2003 and they are the Pace Car Replica and the SS Jeff Gordon Signature Edition Package. Your vehicle does have the SS High Sport Appearance Package, which includes: a ground effects package, special 16" aluminum wheels, racing inspired rear spoiler, stainless steel exhaust tips and a special edition IP cluster identification. A total of 39,996 2003 Monte Carlo SS's were produced. We do not have a breakdown for the number of vehicles produced with the SS High Sport Appearance Package.

limited edition not the same as special editions all the limited editions i've seen had high sports package,bigger front brakes,large than stock front tower brace,instrument cluster with oil,temp,amp,heat gauges. ss exh tips if 3.8,
