the lights are on but the ignition isn't there...
when i turn the key it just turns all the way forward as it would first turning over the engine, like the switch to engage the starter isn't catching, key does not return to normal on position, but all dash lights come on, bad switch or bad cylinder?
Also, how do i take the column off that's around the key/turn signal housing? i got the little plate off by the turn signal but that's it, and i don't see any screws... part store said $55 for the switch or $35 for the cylinder with key.
1997 LS Monte Carlo v6 dual overhead cam.
with key turned on and if im lucky it's sitting just right, when i jump the starter the car stays on, thing is no telling if its going to shut off if i hit a bump down the road then its back to trying to get the cylinder to sit just right to keep the car on. again if i can get info on taking the column apart i could figure it out =p. Any/all positive tips are appreciated ^^
