Can anyone tell me where the actual receiver for the keyless entry/remote start is located in my 2006 Monte Carlo LT? Sometimes I cannot get the doors unlocked from the passanger side rear unless I am within about 4 feet of the car. Anything over 5 feet, anywhere around the car, and the remotes do nothing, both remotes. I replaced both batteries and reprogrammed the remotes through the info buttons on the dash, and the dealer says they work fine. I had a 2006 Impala loaner, and I could lock the doors and start the vehicle from my second floor motel room, but I cannot do this at all with my Monte. I have to be pretty close to the car for these functions to work. Any help would be great!

 

What is with the 06's and remote probs??? Hasn't the range problem been brought up a few times here?

 

Just would like to know where the friggin reciever is located.

 

While this issue comes up several times, I have not seen a good answer here on this site...so I went to Remote Keyless Entry Antenna Change - GM Techlink


and got my ans...This is why I don't like this site and don't use it, because most of the answers are not serious and the reponders are just putting done someone for asking certain questions.

 

On the 2000 though 2005 Monte, the receiver is mounted under the upper dashboard cover just to the right of the driver. It's probably the same on the 2006.
