Hi, when I left my house, I had about little more then 1/8 of a tank, when I got to work, my low feul light came on. How far can I go on low fuel? I have about 24k miles on the engine. Can I go 5 local traffic miles?

yeah you should be fine for 5 miles. i have drove mine to work and home agian on the light and i work 15miles from home. would not recomend it but you can do it.

I manage to get pretty far when the light comes on every time. I don't think that gauge is very accurate anyway because every time I get in my car the gas gauge has changed on me from what it should be.

My trip computer tells me that I have 50mi left when the low fuel light and ring-dinger come on. I've never gotten even close to the 17gal on a fill-up. Just a computerized guess. I don't trust the computer, either.

 

I've drive 42 miles on the "low fuel warning."

 

...In fact, the less fuel you have, the lighter your car is.

The lighter your car is, the better mileage you get.

That is why some people can feather their pedals for many miles on empty.

 

lol...i've driven 80 miles on the low fuel light..but that was highway...i would imagine 40-50 in town

 

I've done 30 miles but I just won't risk more.

 

my lite comes on and then the damd DIC comes up and says LOW

but dont let me see the miles left LOL
