Horrible Radio Reception
My connection is loose on the driver's side of the back window. Could this be my issue? My rear defroster doesn't work, and my radio gets one station. How would I go about re-attaching the connection to the back window. Can I just solder it?
my antenna clip was loose after alot of time wondering why my radio never came in i realized this and snapped it back on on the driver side rear window, it improved a little bit but barely, then i moved the cables running to the rearview mirror while listening to the radio station with static, and i could position it to make the station come in, but then i would i have to do that for each station. even then it wasnt consistent sound without static. really wish i could figure this out. my girlfriend hates listening to my rap cds
They had those in the '80s as well- My '82 Olds had 2 thin wires that went through the center of the windshield, take a 90 degree turn, and run along the top. It worked pretty good, but you had to get used to the wires being there while you were driving.
Did you ever get this fixed , I have the same problem .
My dad's 76 Century had a windshield antenna that was as good as any whip antenna. I never understood why they got rid of them.

:p I remember those '70s GM windshield antennas, but I didn't know about that.
