Ok the car keeps shutting down,,3 times now,,i have reset the key each time,,that only times it out,,crank shaft sensors are all ok,,gm read all codes,,none showing,,saying ill have to drive until it happens again, they didnt want to replace the lock cylyinder,,said could be throwninb money away,,what do i do here,,the only thing i noticed is the engine light was on for a month prior to this,,code said erg valve stuck open,,yet after this all has happend the engine light has gone off,,i dont know what to do,any suggestions,,bcm is fine,,??

Dont know what maf means,,and after the whole car shuts off while driving it,,i cannot restart it,,sometimes when i reset the key 10 min,,it strat right up,,sometimes i have to do that several times,,then it starts,,3 days later and all over again,,

 

MAF is a Mass Air Flow sensor.

Do you have the 3400 or the 3800 engine?

 

3800 SS nOT maf,JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH GM,,iNSURMENT PANLE ALL NEEDLES GO TO ZERO WHNE CAR STALLS,,SAYS ITS SOME ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND CODE WONT READ UNTIL IT IS ACTUALY ACCURING,,SUGGESTED NOT REPLACING THE INGNITION SWICTH BUT SAID IT COULD BE THE PROB,,IM AT WITS END,,NOONE KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO,,AND I DRIVE FREEWAY,,PARONOID AS HELL ABOUT IT STOPPING AT WRONG TIME??

 

check harness under the coolant overflow tank and see if any wires are showing or shorted out

 

I called the mec and asked him to do so,,there has been a leak in the radiator,,so maybe the water has curroded the wirers,,thanks

 

When a car stalls, all the needles to fall to zero. The car has stalled and is off, no power is going to the PCM so the cluster has no data.

 

Nothing could be found,,Is running great now,,If it happens again,,ill just replace the ingnition swicth,,but didnt want to spend 200 if that wasent the problem,,i love my car,,but the computers leave alot to be desirerd,,lol
