Default Help find water leak

My 2001 SS is loosing coolant and I can't find where. The skid pan will be holding coolant, the water pump doesn't appear to be leaking. If its a intake gasket where are the normal places to check?

My guess would be the coolant elbows on the belt tensioner.

A closer shows you are right about leaking at the elbows. Now i have to figure out the easiest way to replace them.

Would have been my suggestion as well. Be sure to replace them with aftermarket aluminum ones made by Dorman. You can pick them up at any of the large chain auto part stores for around $12.

To replace, remove the coolant reservoir, serpentine belt, belt tensioner, alternator and it's bracket.

If you still have the factory plastic ones, make sure you get the Dorman aluminum replacements and some Permatex. You'll never have to replace them after that.

Thanks guys. I have the metal ones going out to the heater hoses but still have the plastic 90 on the other side. The plastic 90 is the one that's leaking.

Since the aluminum ones come in a two pack for $12 and you have to take all the same stuff off to get just one out you should replace both. I think I understand you right, There are two 90o's, one is hard to see w/o taking the tensioner off.

Default drain plug

Is the radiator drain plug hard to find or non existent on the '01 SS?

The petcock is at the lower, driver side. The air deflector hides it. Best to remove the deflector.
