Stop helping him. He doesn't want it :P

Seriously though, I would perform a full tune-up on a car that was sitting for that long. Get all the fluids flushed, change thermostats / plugs / wires / oil.

Start there, and don't drive your car hard until you find the problem.

Haha, oops... yes I do want the help!!! Sorry about that. Thanks to all that have replied.

I think that would be best, start with a full tune up. I did change the thermostat and plugs, I will go on to flushing the rad and changing oil and wires. Hopefully it isnt anything too serious.

Already been done.

So here's an update, I took it to town today with a half tank of gas, and returned home with an empty tank, and trail of gas left behind me. Would fuel pressure have to do with my problems?

If my memory serves me right. The fuel system is a pressurized system. That's why you get a CEL ( Check Engine Light ) when the gas cap is loose. Either way, that leaking tank is something that needs immediate attention.

Ihave a question that i cant seem to find an answer anywhere in the thread.

When you saying that the car is running HOT, at what temp is the car shutting off? Looking at your temp gage. where does this happen. is the needle straight up? is it past the middle? before? Cause if its happening BEFORE or in the middle. then i just might be a sensor. maybe an IAC (Idle Air Control ) valve?

Just trying to get more pieces to the puzzle.

Problem solved, and thanks to everyone that helped.

It turned out to be plug wires, they were arcing due to thin wall of rubber being burnt off from the front exhaust manifold. Thats why it wouldnt rev over 4000rpm, it would begin to arc and send current elsewhere.

Also, it was stalling out at half on the temp. guage, becuase when it got too hot, it would simply be burning the rubber on the wire, and also causing it to arc.

Thanks to all the replies.

To JJsRYD, mine runs at half temp. on the guage in city traffic, which i dont think is too hot. This is when my fan kicks in and takes it to just above 1/4 on the guage.

glad you got that taken care of, and you are running better. i would suggest getting some heat- resistant sleves for your new wires to help prevent that from happining again. also, it your tank is leaking, be sure to check the seal around the fuel pump and sending unit.
