a horrid noise comming from the engine from 0 @ WOT with the A/C on? I've just recently noticed this and it has me a little concerned.

It almost sounds like the belt is moving faster than the compressor pully.

Your thoughts?

How many miles do you have on the car? Alot of people think the belt lasts forever, but you should change it according to the owner's manual. I have noticed my compressor makes a slight noise upon start up in the morning, but it quickly goes away.

I have about 36K on it. It looks good... Maybe I'll pull it this weekend and replace it anyway.

My 01 Monte has made that same noise since it was new. I now have 67,000 miles on it, it only makes the noise at WOT, nothing has broken yet!!

Welcome to the forum pacecar....

It's good to know I am not the only one...lol I was getting a little worried there..

Have you changed your belt or any other parts related to the belt system in an attempt to correct it?

I am about due for a new belt, but haven't changed it yet. I'm not to concerned as it only happens at WOT with the a/c on. Usually the air is off when my right foot gets heavy. So far it's been a good ride. The small stuff going wrong is getting old though.
