Question Fuel problem 2000 SS

Hi guys new member here, have a 2000 Monte SS 3800,140K miles, went out to start it today to take my boy and his friend in town, after I started it, both the kids said they smelled gas real strong, (my sense of smell is about gone) so I shut it down, put it up on ramps, started it back up, looked over fuel system front to back, no leaks were spotted, they said it was from under the hood, no leaks spotted, it seems to run fine, I did have a starting issue a couple days before, it cranked over but wouldn't fire up, so I pedaled it and it started up, could FPR be bad and loading up the motor? which would make it smell rich? any suggestions?

Check the fuel pressure regulator. See if the hose connected to it leaks fuel. Or smells of fuel. If so tht needs to be replaced. Also check the fuel injectors to make sure they aren't leaking or anything
