Default fuel Press. Reg. 97 Z34

Has anyone replaced a fuel pressure regulator on a 97 Z34? I am suspecting that it needs to be replaced. But looking at it, it is integrated with the fuel rail. Is there anyway to replace it without messing witht the fuel rail? And my chiltons says to take off the intake manifold which would require draining the coolant? I dont see why I have to do that just to replace a press reg. Any body got any insight?

the FPR does come out of the rail... you need snap ring plyers to remove the lock ring. then you can twist it back and forth to remove it. do not loose the Rubber O rings inside or break the screen there is in there aswell. you can do it with everything still on the car. just besure to release the fuel pressure before you do it.
