Default Fog Light Issues

I installed factory fog lights in my 2000 LS, from my understanding all i had to do was add the headlight switch that has the fog light switch with it (Did that) replaced the harness that conects the headlights/fog lights, fuse box ect. (did that) and install the fog lights (did that)

I had power to the switch, the lil orange light in it was lighting up, no matter which position i had the headlight switch, the fog lights never turned on... now i dont even have power to the fog light switch...

I'll do just about anything mechanical on a car, might fubar it right up, but ill learn from it... electrical, that i dont like to mess with, replacing a harness is childs play, but finding problems in it, to me is not.. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!!

The fog lights won't work if the BCM isn't programmed for them... I am about 95% sure the fog light option isn't one that can be changed on the BCM (only programmed in a virgin BCM), so you would need a new BCM and a Tech-II to program it

No because the VIN in the BCM won't match the VIN in the rest of the modules in the car and the car won't start. And you can't change the VIN in the BCM once it's programmed

Just got off the phone with GM... This may be good news...

Apparently they are able to now add settings in the BCM, something about GM unlocking **** for the scan2 tool... a tech where i normally go for dealer only stuff said that exactly what im asking for as been done to an 2000 Impala, so i might actually get lucky here...

Can't get in for 2-3 weeks (on the road for work) but once i get back i will bring her in, i will keep you guys posted!

Well ladies and gentlemen, i would to like apologize for doubting the fact that you all were probably right, but i blame the techs at GM, they told he it could be done, but apparently it can only be done on an Impala (which makes no sense to me what so ever!)

Good new is they are not charging me a thing... So i guess im gonna hardwire it to either a after market switch (unless someone knows a way to wire up the stock switch, im mediocre with electrical) or just use the headlights wire to power up a relay which will in turn power my lights (i dont want to draw more power the needed to from the healight wires)
