Anyone know where to get new door trim/weather strip for the 6th gen cars? Mine is quickly starting to disintegrate, and i don't want water leaking in.

Since I don't know the technical name, and Haynes doesn't cover it, I attached a pic of the damage.

 

Mine is doing the same but mine lets rain in, thank god that I have a garage. I forgot the name of it but there is an old thread on here showing how to.remove it. I think it has 6 things that you have to remove... Cant quite remember.

I did not attempt to fix it, as my leak is fairly small currently...it seems rather expensive and rather difficult to properly fix

Furder, GM Parts giant has the molding for $61.95 So far that's the lowest price I've seen. Their shipping price is pretty good too.

 

I know this is an old thread, but I am glad I cam across it as I now have the part number for the window seal that I need. I was wondering if anyone has the part number to #4 in the diagram? I seem to be missing a rubber piece in front of the quarter window on my 2000 LS. The passenger side is great. It is only the driver's side that I am looking for.

For those who want a temporary fix for this issue, get and apply the 3M rubber adhesive. Mine was almost as bad as the OP's, and now does not leak a drop. No wind noise to speak of, either. The only 3M automotive product I've ever been happy with.

Like the glue? I found a few different kinds and wasn't sure what exactly you were talking about.
1) 3M™ SUPER WEATHERSTRIP ADHESIVE part: 08581
2) 3M™ WEATHERSTRIP ADHESIVE part: 08011
3) 3M™ BLACK SUPER WEATHERSTRIP ADHESIVE part: 03602

Do I just use it to glue back on the flapping part of the weatherstrip back to the original?

 

#3, and yeah, just glue it back to the original. Just make sure you give it a couple hours to set before you close the door. Mine looked exactly like yours, and now it looks brand new unless you look really closely. No leaks at all.
