Also I had just got my fuel pump done...it went off 3 days after it was replaced...could they have screwed something up in the process?

The canister purge solenoid commonly fixes P-0440, but it could also be due to some random insignificant tiny leak in the system. So if you are like me, you might replace these parts and not solve your problem. Good thing is it does not cause any drive ability issues. I just had my car scanned today to make sure it was the only code up, and I deal w/ it.

Ok I went to the parts store to get a manual..and they didn't have one..I would like to find the purge solenoid since its like the cheapest of the 2 meaning the canister. More than likely its on the same place as yours considering they are only a yr apart but I'm not sure...where is it and is it causing mpg loss like significant loss?

No significant MPG loss at all, and if you look at KidSpace's post right after yours click on the "Quick View" for the PDF/Adobe file. The picture is on the 3rd page. It is a little black canister that is about the size of an old Kodak film canister that has 2 hose hook ups on it + 1 electrical connection. It should be 3 inches above your passenger side front motor mount. You will have to take off the plastic engine cover.

Ok I found my purge solenoid it was right ontop of the engine in front. Anyhow I went to grab it and I just came straight up no resistance..I heard its suppoed to have a locking clip is that true?

My light just came on too (P0455) and I've started by tightening the gas cap. Does anyone know if this fixes it if the light will go off on its own or does it need turned off. Then if I do get it turned off and the gas cap didn't fix it it'll obviously come back on again in a day or so, right?

No it won't turn it off cause the gas cap itself isn't a sensor it has to be erased. N yes if it isn't the gas cap it will come back on..sometimes mine take 3-5 days to return
