Engine Swap in a 2000 Monte SS

I spun a bearing in my motor so I went and bought a used engine with 70k on it. Same motor, it came out of a 2002 Bonneville.
I'm getting ready to do the swap now. Any advice?

I didn't see a how-to on this and I am looking for something to study.

Should do a top swap while you doing all this work. Or should have just looked for a SC'd motor

If you have never done this before I would get a haynes or chilton manual for starters. Autozone or Oreileys should have one or check your local library. As for the swap the best advice I can give is label everything. Ziploc bags and a sharpie work good for storing bolts or small parts. Take pictures along the way to help remember how wires or hoses are run.

Yeah I've swapped a 350 into my 79 grand prix. Just never did it on this car. I'm assuming it will be pretty straight forward but I figured I would check the forum to see if there was any advice available before I start on it.

Well it's recommended you pull most motors out the bottom nowadays. All you do is dropp the cradle and go from there. I have done a few on front wheel drive vehicles and I've pulled them from the top. You may have to end up pulling more things off the engine.

i pulled mine from the top and left the trans in the car. pretty simple, just label everything and pics do help. good luck!

Some people may not always want the supercharged engine. It is an extra cost but way worth it in my opinion. However having owned a N/A 3800 also I would say they are great enignes also.
