I did read the article and plan to tackle cleaning those connectors this weekend. It was a great article. Thank you very much.

We have reset the battery after changing the pump and went through some relearning steps....?

I just ordered an ACDELCO MAF (not reman) to try as well. Everything I see keeps suggesting that. Since we've changed the pump, CPS, the MAF is the most common recommendation. It's just soo frustrating, guess that's why the previous owners sold, they gave up!

Ha..side note to drivernumber3. I was a huge Earnhardt fan, and the other day the radio station had a call in show where people called in to say what they would pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to see. Someone said, "I'd like to see Earnhardt taking out Terry Labonte in Bristol." I was there, I saw it!! I started down the steps as soon as he wrecked him because I knew he was going to win, and made it to the bottom (from the very top row) before his victory lap! Great day in my life!!

I watched it on TV that night, and that was a fun Race it appeared that Dale felt guilty that it turned out that way. However Terry hit Dale pretty hard several times. But Terry's car was extremely loose.
So at that time I was a Sales Rep. and traveled to see my accounts everybody gave me Sh*t about that and other stuff Dale did as well.
So I am with the manager of this store and took him and the assist. mgr. for lunch and we are in this Sports Bar and he goes off on Dale in there and in front of everyone to see if he could get support for Dale being a mean driver. He didn't get it, I told him Dale didn't hit Terry on Purpose. He said to prove it. So at that time they still had regular TV's not the flat screens, I said I will be back when you want to have me prove it and we can do it on the TV's. They were ?????????????? WTF, you know? So they picked the date I went and I had taped the Race on VHS I could frame the video to slow motion. So I used something like pin stripe tape to the TV Screen and I did prove that Dale didn't change his line that he had always Raced. Terry just got in the way cause once he hit Dale.......Taz appeared and it was all over. So I won the bet according to everyone in the bar that night who voted on it. It was like 75 to maybe 8 or so.

I met Dale back in the late 80's and spent some time with him just by accident. He was kind of surprised I didn't know who he was? He gave me as much Sh*t as he could during that encounter and I gave it right back. The 3rd morning I was there I finally said did you come here to _____, or give me Sh*t. he just laughed. fun stuff.
(But if you look like someone I have attached the photo's people are gonna vent on you and they did.)

That's a pretty cool story. So is that when you became a fan?

Thinking more about the MC. I notice that when the car is idling how much turning the wheel or using the power windows lowers the rpms and dims the lights. I wonder if my alterBator could be bad. The mechanic said he check n cleaned all my grounds.

After I met him I was a fan.
I would meet folks who knew him, drivers and such an they would tell me there stories.
In 1995 I was in one of those collectables stores, and bought a few hats. I told the owner, who was a driver. that I was going to make a prediction. I bought 3 Hats brand new releases for the year! I said Dale will wear this one during the Bud shoot out and then this one for the 500 and this one at the Rock. I gave him my phone # and said if He does call me and you will owe me a Hat of my choice this year.
It was all Bull sh*t but I was right on and the guy gave me any hat I wanted that year. Dale did a good job of promoting the stuff he would wear 7 to 10 hats every season. I did this same thing in 96 thru 99 and never missed.
Had he not been a friend of the real Dale, he said I would have thought you were him.

You do favor him alot!

Caris back in the shop. Took it to auto zone to test the battery (long shot). The guy removed the felt terminal pads and said I wasn't getting a good connection. Well that worked for a day, and it's died three times now. All sitting at idle or when not pressing the gas pedal. Check engine light has came on so I took it to the mechanic. Waiting to see what this one says.

Ok. Here's the results for now. Mechanic called said it is fixed permanently. We will see.

He said the 02 sensor had gone out (check engine light) which was shorting out the heater circuit unit.

The dying is because the wire going to the alternator was bad and had arced and melted making the whole wire bad.

Time to drive and see if we are fixed $1,150 later (new CPS, fuel pump, fuel filter, belt, o2 sensor, cat)

Let's home so!! Still need to fix the drivers side heated seat, repaint the calibers, find a key fob that will work, replace the buttons on the steering wheel because they are worn and I'd prefer they look new, and I'm sure there will be other things pop up! (AC/Heat) Oh and it's included in the new GM Recall posted this week for an engine leak. :-P

I was at a Salvage yard Saturday and saw a few seats that were opened to retrieve the heated seat pad. Might be an option?
You might try the key fob remote on ebay?
Sometimes the oil from your hands and fingers will corrode the inside of the remotes, occasionally they can be repaired by opening it up and using a pencil eraser on the contacts.
The Salvage yard is a great place for the button find also. I have seen some steering wheels on ebay and craigslist also?
