make sure the fuel cap is on tight and the rubber gasket isn't cracked. make sure the filler opening isn't rusted. if those items are good and the light comes back on after clearing it the vent solenoid is very common on gm's. but either way your not hurting your ride if its only a P0440.

So it should hurt even my mpg..I still wanna get it fixed. I got smog coming soon..damn I hate california's smog laws

So it wouldn't have anything to do with my fuel pump replacement..just had that done last sat n 2 days later the code popped up? Are either of those an expensive and time comsuming project?

Ok I just looked @ my gas cap and I seen cracks and breaks in the rubber seal..does that mean more than likely its the cap?
