Default Driver Seat

Okay, so I'm not sure if there's a repair option here or if I need to have an entirely new seat put in. The back of the seat doesn't catch anymore so for the most part it will just start falling further and further back until you're almost laying in the back seat. I also have no idea where to go to get a new seat, outside of a junk yard. With a junk yard if they expect me to remove the seat myself that just isn't going to happen lol.

Hi angel. The post doesn't say what year/model your car is. Sounds like the latch cable broke. eBay may be your best bet for parts...some disassembly required...Lol.

Here's a link to the part for a gen. 7 ('06/'07).

I'm sorry it's a 2001 ls. Not sure if the motor is broken as well since that's acting funny now too *sigh* Have a mechanic willing to put a new one in for me, but no idea how much those go for generally at junk yards and such nor if it just has to be a monte carlo seat.

The junk yard is your best bet for a whole new seat. Should be under $100 and it has to be a Monte Carlo seat years 2000-05. Probably have to take it out yourself, pay them to do it, or sweet talk them.

Depending on where you are located I have a pair of black leather front seats I will sell you, but if you have to ship you may as well go to a junk yard.

The seats are extremely easy to remove, just a pair of torque nuts (kinda of like a star but with more points) hold down the back of the seat and it slides into a set of tracks on the front. Just move the seat all the way forward and you can access the bolts at the back, undo them and literally tilt and pull the track out, if you have heated seats or air bags there are connectors located under the seat that you have to undo, it will honestly take you less than ten minutes a seat to remove the old one and put the new one in

Just had a couple of quick follow up questions, would a seat from an Impala work as they are more or less a four door Monte Carlo? Also, as the seat is electric, does the replacement need to be electric as well?
