Default DOUBLE START?

Hey everyone - I got a question. Does anyone have a problem with "double starting" when you start your car - mine does it about every 4th time I start my car and I don't know where to begin. My friend has an 05 G6 and her's does it but I was wondering if any other Monte's are having this problem? Any help would be awesome! Thanks Everyone!

when i turn the key, once it fires and starts the ignition sounds like it's still trying to start again. Like I'm holding the key too long, but I'm not. And it only does it every 4th time or so. Does that make sense - It's hard to explain and everytime I want it to do it so someone will believe me it doesn't! Any help or idea would be great - I'm hoping to find someone that this has happened to so I can explain it better to the dealer.

Thank you Whiz Kidd!

i can speak by experience but it sounds like an ignition switch or a relay(maybe thats all it is)

That was my first thought too - my car has 31K on it right now. Is there a way to run the codes to find out why or would something like that turn up on a diagnostic scan? I really don't know where to begin? Any suggestions? I like to keep everything maintained on my vehicles and this is bothering me.

Thanks Y'all!

actually our cars are kinda designed to do that all you have to do is tap the ignition and it will turrn it self over in till it bumps over u dont have to hol dthe switch until it starts the alot of gm cars are dong it now

I think that started in 03, but I'm not certain. My 01 doesn't have it, but it can't be "double started". Once it is running, if I turn the key, nothing happens.
