Does the 3.5l v6 have coolant elbows like the ones in the 3.4l that are notorious for failure? I can't find anything about those failing on a 3.5 so I assume either they are made better or don't exist.

 

Actually, it was the 3.8 that had the elbow problems. The 3.4 is famous for the intake manifold gaskets leaking. The 3.5 also does not have the elbow problem but often has issues with the coolant crossover/bypass gaskets leaking at pretty low mileage.

 

Yeah, it is the 3.8 coolant elbows... mine just went. Replaced it with an aluminium elbow.
