Default Do I have a lemon? P0455 and MFS

Hello all:

Very new to the car I bought for my daughter, an 04 SS, 3.8L supercharged. I have a couple of problems and searching didn't find an answer so I just decided to ask.

First issue is the multifunction switch. Turn signals work intermittently. I replaced the switch as searching on this forum indicated this was a common fault. No issues with changing the switch, but the problem persists. Is there sometihng else I should be looking at? I'm hoping this isn't a BCM issue. Anyone with similar experience?

Second issue is the code - P0455. After removing the engine cover, I found some "creative engineering" involving epoxy and vacuum lines. I obviously have a vacuum leak in the evap system, but I was wondering if some one with the same engine could post a pic of the vacuum lines under the engine cover. This may help as I plan to replace these lines and hopefully solve this issue.

It's a beautiful car, but before I can give it to my kid it has to be right. Thanks in advance for the help.

When the turn signals don't work, press the hazard switch. That's a more common fault on the car.

EVAP can be tough, usually the vacuum line near the gas filler is the problem though. I don't have the L67, can't post a picture of the vacuum lines for you though.

If it hasn't been removed, there should be a decal on the upper radiator support showing the vacuum line routing. If it isn't there this may help:

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try the hazard switch tomorrow. What's the "technical name" for the vacuum tree on top of the supercharger? As a minimum I'm going to need to replace that.
Really appreciate the drawing and the help. I'll keep you guys posted, maybe this will help someone else in the future.

Eaton - EATON Blower Booster Cap #ETN-312065

Pretty sure that's what you're looking for. I bought that as well. Good luck with the car.

Default Update

Hey guys:

Replacing the hazard switch fixed my turn signal issue, and replacing the MFS fixed my headlight issue, so it's on to the vacuum leak. I have the new vacuum tree to install, however - where does the "accessory" tap line go to? I had some creative engineering in place when I got the car, so I have to suspicion that the hose was removed completely.

So this would be the vacuum port "in the middle". I need some help figuring out where the other end of that hose needs to connect. Thanks.

The accessory line goes to your HVAC in the car. I had a vacuum line on the right side of the engine bay that it connected to. But this is on a 96 Monte, so your application may be different.

Thanks for the replies guys, but I'm still not there. In the pic posted above by 03SSLE (thanks by the way) this is the tap labeled accessory. The vacuum lines are a mess. I need to know where I need to run the line from the vacuum tree... Anybody out there??

That would go to the heater/AC vacuum motors that control the vent doors in the dash.
