Default in desperate need of help with my 72 monte carlo 350 sb please

can anyone please help me i have a 72 monte carlo with the 350 small block
all stock with the quadrajet 4 barrel
a while back i lost my keys and the guy i paid to fix my lock cylinder screwed up my tumbler gears and now i put a new ignition switch in and tryed to start it with a screw driver and i get nothing but theres a purple wire hanging that doesnt plug in to the ignition switch and when u give it hot feed it cranks but doesnt start.
can anyone help me or tell me how to just bypass everything and wire it up with my own switch and run it that way any help would be greatly appretiated this thing has been sitting in my garage for 2 years now since it ended up this way and i need to get it back on the road thanks.

If u can get it to crank a '72 is easy it needs fuel air and spark to run along with compression. If its been sitting for 2 years get some fresh gas into it and make sure you've got spark. The plugs cod be fouled from the old gas. The mechanical cam driven fuel pumps were bad for the diaphragm cracking from age. And they suck from the gas tank so make sure you rubber lines in the supply line aren't leaking vacuum. Go from there and see how she goes
