radiator core support
I am trying to figure out the best way to remove the front of my 1984 Monte Carlo Base. I'm a disabled veteran and need to get closer to the engine so I can torque the new aluminum heads. I would really appreciate some help with this. Thanx.

WOO HOO another 4th gen!!
First of all, welcome to the forum!!
And thank you for your service!!!
Attached is the schematic from the Chiltons manual for the front ends of our cars. Then you would have to remove the radiator and transmission cooler lines. That should give you a little better access.
One thing about our cars, they have tons of room under the hood but, being as short as I am, sometimes I can't get to things from over the front or the fender and I have to climb inside the engine bay...LOL
Keep us updated on your progress.
What is your name and where are you from?

Thanks Ken!!! Those pics also help me with a problem I am having. Water in the floor pan. Must have a dirty drain. But I am also getting ready to sheet metal that area as I have removed the entire heater core. When I get home it is something I am going to check...for the life of me I could not figure out where the water was coming from.

Mark, if I was near OK I'd be glad to help out a fellow Vet...too bad I'm in Chicago, but the info you've got should make it easier for you to finish the engine...If at all possible, I'd try to remove the entire front clip for better access.
