Cooling Fan problem
After the car is warmed up, if you let it idle for 5-10 minutes it will get hot. The cooling fans are not turning on. Also when I turn the AC on they stay off. Is this most likly the Fan relays in the fuse box are bad?

RE: Cooling Fan problem
I've had that problem on my other car (94 beretta)and yes it was a relay, but mine was on the firewall.I know the monte's are differnt so it probably is in the fuse box,I'm sure that someone else on here can tell you exactly where it is.

RE: Cooling Fan problem
I would pick up a used relay at the junk yard and that should clear it up. Write down all the info listed on the relay itself. You might be able to pull one from a similar car like a Lumina or a Cavalier.

RE: Cooling Fan problem
First get a test light. They cost about 2-5 bucks for all you'll need. Find the wiring for the cooling fan. Connect the alligator clip to a ground and plug the pin end into the various connectors for the fan to see if you are getting power. When you stop getting power is where the problem occurs.
