Default Converting Gauges to read Mechanical Signals?

I have an 85 Monte SS that has been converted to a Carbed Swirlport 350. All access point for such things as Water Temp, Oil, and RPM are Mechanical. How do I convert my gauges to work? I have temporary AM gauges for Water and Oil. I believe the Speedo still works as it's still a 200r4. Also is there a way to turn off the MIL? It thinks my motor isn't in the car since nothing hooks up to the old wiring harness.
Thanks

you should be able to put the thermostat housing off your old motor on the 350 and be able to hook the wire up for the temp gauge but I don't know about the tach or oil sending unit im not sure how youd be able to use aftermarket sending units to power your cars electric gauges ill try to look it up for ya. Hopefully someone else knows more about this stuff and can help

Talking aftermarket gauge cluster

I was browsing around on Dixie Monte Carlo Depot's website and saw some gauge clusters complete with aftermarket gauges or without gauges and you buy the gauges separately. These aftermarket gauges will come with all the stuff to hook them up to your older 350 and it'll be fairly easy. Other than that I can't think of any way you could hook your 85 SS factory gauges to that engine. I'm not a expert by any means so maybe somebody else will know something I don't. Good luck!

All you have to do to use factory gauges is put on the original sending units for the oil pressure and temperature. The wire for the tach should already be there. Just plug it into the distributor and it should work. to get check engine light to turn off you are going to have to take out the bulb.
