Exclamation cold start - cant stay running

hello all, I have a 2002 monte, and love it.. it started to have a problem starting in cold or damp days. it acts like the chock is not working. I have to keep the revs up to keep it running, I know it does not have a chock in it, but what ever the electronic control is that takes that function is not working. also It wants to let the engine almost stall when I take my foot off the pedal its like the engine is not running but it does not stall. just drops down to 800 rpm. and it at idle in park, it runs 700 to 900 rpm. code came in as a vacume leak but I tested all the hoses and don't see any leaks. the old propane trick.. new air filter, plugs & wires. timing is spot on. any help is welcome.
thanks pete

It is still most likely the Vac leak, sometimes you can test them and they work fine and then they still cause an issue. or there is still one that was not found?
*Choke is the word you were looking for,
a *Chock is what you would put behind the wheel to hold the car in place.
Sorry I was having trouble figuring it out until I read it over several times.

Usually with a small vacuum leak you would experience a high idle, but my guess would be possibly the EGR valve is stuck open a little. Not sure how you would test , but I have ran into these exact problems before on a older vehicle and valve was stuck open . I haven't used the propane method in a long time but it does work, I usually use carb spray to locate vacuum leaks, that way I can see where I am checking leaks. I would also check the mating surfaces of the intake and around the throttle body and pvc valve . Good luck

well thanks for getting back to me. and yes I cant spell...lol always had that problem, I use autocorrect too much. I looked up the egr valve and its closed in the disconnected state, so I unplugged it, started the car in the morning and holy cow, She is back--- took her for a cruse and no problem with a "dead stick" pedal when I come off the gas at 35 +.

jeff02rwdss love the mod to rear power. can you PLEASE show pic on how you did the engine mounts and what the drive train is. I miss the slide to the right
thanks guys.
