Default Cold Air Intake and Gas Mileage

Well, I've read on here that getting a CAI will increase fuel economy and power. How much of both? I'm I looking at 2 mpgs and 10 hp? Or more along the lines of 1/2mpg and 4hp?

Thanks

Depends on your driving style.

But more like 2-3 whp, and 1-2 mpg

Not bad, guess it will pay for itself quicker than I though.

My driving habits change with the wind. Depends on what I have my dash read-out computer thing telling me. If I have it showing instant or average gas mileage, I keep it set at cruise control aroun 65 freeway and accelerate like a turtle in town.

If I have it set at anything, I'm pretty heavily footed.

Yea I would say about 1-2 MPG, assuming you are not so eager to hear the awesoe sound the CAI will create. If you like hearing that sound to much, you will pay the price in gas. LOL....

As for HP 5 HP max...

It's not going to affect it that much. It helps but it doesn't "solve" the low MPG problem. lol

As long as it increases the gas mileage a little bit I can tell myself that spendiing $300 on the Cold Air Inductions CAI is worth it since it will pay for itself.

If this saves you 1 mpg, and you get 15 gallons per fill-up, that is saving you 15 miles. Maybe you are getting 20 mpgs right now, so every 6 fill-ups will save you 3 gallons, which is what... $3?

So after 600 fill-ups, you would have paid off the CAI?

Which is enough excuse for me to spend the $300 on the intake.

I just need that excuse.
