Default Which Code Reader?

I am thinking of getting the Equus 3150 or 3160 but I am also looking for any other good models or a nod to one of these. I need a code reader that can do ABS as well and I happen to like these. Feel free to chime in with any other model though!

The ones you mentioned seem pretty decent and not a bad price, unless someone else has better advice, I'd get one of them. I have just an ODBII that I got for about a $100 without ABS, which I wish I would have known that I needed also at the time....

I haven't found a code reader with ABS that I actually like. Plus that code doesn't really pop up too often where I don't know which wheel is the problem.

I went with a ScanGauge 2 so that I can monitor what I want while driving as well as clear CELs as they pop up.

Does that portable device you have also work for other cars or is it one that you mount and keep in the car. I think I am still leaning with one of the other two. When would I ever need live data?

I use the ELM 327 scanner for my car. It doesn't support ABS, but it works for exactly what I need in a scanner, including live data streams. For less than $30 it can't be beaten.

So greg do you just take the laptop with you or does it store up info and then you plug it in after? I have seen these but never new how they work. Is the software included?

I take the laptop with me and it streams data right to it. I can use it as extra gauges if I want to. Same thing with codes. I take the laptop, hook it up and clear them. Pretty easy. It comes with some software, but I didn't really like it. I acquired a different software that was compatible with the 327 online.

Got an iPhone or something like that? I bought the Innovate Motorsports OT-2 hardware. Its a little pricer then just a scanner, but it has a lot of fun toys and live feeds. Everybody loves the dyno. I reviewed it here
