6th Gen ('00-'05): changing back 3 plugs (how?)
#2
That is a major problem for the V-6, I have changed them using a mirror and sometimes you have to loosen the motor and jack it forward. You might try raising the car and trying to change them from below I watched a Technician do that at a Garage once.

I saw this video on youtube...I watched a different one though...that video put it on jack stands and took off the front drivers wheel to get at the plug close's to the drivers side in back from underneath...the other 2 plugs in back he got from the top...like I said to someone else on here, I guess in need to bring more patience to the job...and I also told him, now I have 3 changed, and 3 not, but it gets driven very little...

I was able to change mine with a double universal joint on the plug socket and two extensions with a single universal joint between the extensions. Don't know if you still have the metal insulators on the plug wire boots or not, but I found that to be hardest part. As I recall, I paid like $125 for the special pry tool that makes it a whole lot easier to get those plug wires off.

the plugs do still have the boots...while i want to do it myself (i'm not as mechanically inclined like 95% of you)...$125, i could take it to the shop down the street, and they will do the 3 plugs for like $50...
I think i'll take the hit to my ego if those are my choices...

Maybe best. It's a real pain in the butt. Some say you need to tilt the engine forward too, but I didn't find that necessary. Here's a link with a picture of the tool.Amazingly simple for the price, but almost impossible to remove the heat shield insulators without it. Kent-Moore J 38491.
