Every time I jump in my Monte Carlo SS I get the check engine oil light on the dash. Is there a way I can get rid of this? I feel like there is a procedure to reset the engine oil life but I'm not sure. If anyone can help out that would be great

 

Turn the key to on but not started and turn off the radio. Hold the display button until the menu comes up. You can scroll through and reset the oil life

 

had my change oil light come one shortly after a change, there was a reset that involved key and pressing the brake pedal a few times, I don't seem to remember the code, but it didn't involve the radio

 

Theres 2 ways, with the radio and also without. I believe without its key on, dont start it and floor the pedal 3 or 5 times. The radio method is in the owners manual i believe.

 

My 2006 goes with the key on (don't start) and mash the gas pedal 5 times.

Not necessary to say "5-30" three times no matter what the good witch says.

 

I did the 5 time pedal cycle and it every light is off of my dash now. Thanks a lot for the advice everyone, i knew it was something very simple
