Change belt

HELLO EVERYONE! i'm new to the fourm, i need to change my engine belt,(serpintine belt) ? trying to save money , i was wondering how hard and how do i change it! thanks,

Whats going on man.

You kinda left out a few important items like, What year do you drive? What engine? N/A? SuperCharged? Post some of that info and we can go from there.

Assuming you have a 5th or 6th gen, (non-supercharged)

There's an illustration under the hood about how the belt diagrams. Use that.

Rotate the tensioner counterclockwise to release the tension of the belt.
slowly undo the belt while releasing tension as needed.
Route the new belt the same way the old belt was routed (in the diagram) and keep rotating the tensioner as needed to allow the belt to be installed.
Then release the tensioner.

You may need a 2nd person to help you really pull that belt over the last ridge lol

When i did my car, i just used a 3/8 pry bar. It was a one person job. Didnt even take 5 mins to do.

damn you need a pry bar to take off the belt? i'm glad i don't have a LS. on mine i use a 15mm socket and release the tensioner

lol !! silver bulliit i said the same thing!!! i could see my self now standing over the engine prying that sh^t loose...lol..hey i like my LS.....LOL..
