Do I need it for the car to run, I am not sure with the emmision system and what not. Cause I am thinking about removing it and tell the muffler man that it somehow fell off. And can he just put a pipe in its place?

You will need it to pass state inspections.

Otherwise your car will run without it.

I thought so I cut the one off of my 83 I had and it ran better. I dont have to worry about any state tests either. Cause I dont live or dont plan on living in the bigger cities..

I bet it does/would run much better.

Do you not have to worry about state inspections???

Texas is tough on state inspections period. Not to mention the annual cost. I pay about $70 for tags and another $35 for the state inspection annually. What I don't get is that if your low income you get a waiver, but if you’re in a higher income bracket you have to get it fixed and retested till it passes. Now, lets think about this for a second, the cars that don't pass usually belong to someone fitting in that low-income bracket.... [sm=headbang.gif] If you can't tell already the Texas State Inspection process/rules really make me mad.

No here in the ****ty town I live in Elizabethtown we have no emissions limits or anything now if I so further north or a little bit to the east I would have to go through inspection. I think but Im not too sure. But I really dont plan on going anywhere for a while.

Your lucky...... Enjoy your freedom while you have it...

Boost, does that thing run through inspections ok with those shells?

I'll bet NJ has similar inspections to Texas....
