Do you have a picture of the carburetor ? I recall a sensor on top of some of the computer controlled carbs.

didi these cars have modular wiring or was it only specific to what options it had, would i have extra un used plugs in the engine bay?

like the first picture it shows Oil press & oil press sw, i know the line is dashed for the sw, but i have a un used connector in the same area as the Oil press conector ?

Looked at the link for the carburetor and it comes up as a 77 GM carb which probably explains why you don't see the carb acc pump sol. I found a few pics in these links that shows a carb for a 84 and a 86 monte carlo 305 both show the solenoid and.wires going to it.

As for the wiring the factory would use the same harness for the same engine regardless of the options (cruise, air or gauge options) they would obviously have a different harness for a chevy 229, buick 231 , chev 5.0 hope I helped a little.

thank you for the links, that sure looks like the connector, any idea if the Canadian version of the car was identical to the American version? it should it have had the CCC?

Not up much on Canada's emissions but yes it should have had the computer carb on it and the cars were about same otherwise but I Think I remember you saying it's old enough to be exempt so no worries

yes it is exempt, just trying to clean up identify and re connect what was disconnected ( instead of unplugging the AC when the condenser broke they cut every wire >:@ )

What year is your Monte? It sounds like whoever had it before you removed all of the CCC and smog parts. They added a standard Quadra jet and distributor probably. I have a 1987 El Camino with the CCC carb. The acc sol is the accelerator pump solenoid, so those wires are not needed for a non ccc carb.
