Default Car doesn't always start without pressing the gas pedal

Main problem is that sometimes my car doesn't start unless I press the gas pedal. Also, the other problem I have been having is that sometimes when my car is coasting to a stop or to make a turn the engine dies. I don't know if this is related but it just started doing this recently. Any help would be great

Can you start the car after the motor dies?

When was the last time you did a tune up?

Could also be a faulty Idle Air Control valve. Or other sensors on your Throttle Body.

What year / engine / etc.

Yes the car starts fine after engine dies. I already changed the idle air control valve. It was faulty but Im still having the problems. It is a 2001 SS 3.8.

It hasnt been to long since I had a tune up. I'm thinking its the MAF sensor.

A shorted/faulty MAF sensor will cause the car to have terrible Idle RPM's, turn off the engine at stoplights, and choke/starve for gas when your cruising constant at any speed. I've gone through a few MAF's with a cheap intake system.

One thing I just noticed yesterday is that the car starts and runs fine when the engine is cold but after driving it awhile it starts to cut off while driving. Its a harder start also when the engine is hot.

Also, I am getting an MAF low input code.

If you're getting a MAF code, check the wiring to the MAF, if all is fine, the sensor is bad.

lol i surprised that no one has said the fuel pressure regulator gees. that was the same thing that my car would do when it was warm, i would go to start it and it wouldn't start like it should, unless i gave it alittle gas while starting, or it would pop right off on the second try. and it would sometimes kill on me when coming to a stop sign or red light, but fire right back up. i changed out the fuel pressure regulator and the problem hasn't came back, and its been a few years now. hope that helps man.
