What am i missing here guys. I'm trying to get into the config mode on the radio. Book says to go to the on or acc position on the ignition, and have the radio off. Then push and hold the display button for up to 5 seconds. The display button is the middle of the tune **** correct? I push that button and i'm getting alot of nothing.........HELP!!!

Try turning the Ignition to "ON or "Run" without actually starting the car.

Just for ****'s and grins, i tried getting into the setup on my moms 02 impala. Same radio, went to the acc positon, went into the config no problem. I wonder if my radio took a crap.

 

what are you trying to do? you trying to reset something?

 

I read in the owners manual that i could change it so when i locked the car with the remote it would beep the horn. Right now it doesn't, but apparently is an option if i could get in the damn menu on the radio. arg.... frustrating..........

 

ACC or ON, no change

I wonder if it would be worth trying to disconnect the battery and reseting the system. What is the worst i could harm by doing that?

 

the "up to 5 seconds" they tell you can be a little too little... try pressing and holding the disp button until it enters the menu... youmay hear a beep from your dash stereo to confirmwhen you enter the menu. when you get in, thescreen should say "SETTINGS"

whenever i go into mine, it takes a little more than 5 seconds... patience is the key (the car's 5 seconds and ours isn't always the same! )

Call a dealership parts/service department and have them run your VIN. It's a possibility that even though other vehicles have this option, yours many not. (My Monte is too old, so I don't know) I would do that just to be safe. They won't charge you anything and you'll know for sure if there is something wrong with yourradio or not.
